On Saturday, July 14, 2007, Paris Garcia, 11, and her 14-year-old sister, Sterling were selling lemonade in the effort to save enough money to go to Sea World on their annual trip to San Diego. Two women approached the girls to purchase lemonade and paid with a $50 dollar bill. The girls gave the two women change for the $50 but came up short with only $38 dollars. One of the women said "Keep the change!" At ages 11 and 14 you can imagine how excited the girls were to get an $11 dollar tip! Hours later the girls' father, Steve Garcia, broke the bad news that the $50 dollar bill was counterfeit.
