Nelson Westerberg Acquires Calif. Moving and Storage Agency to Expand Domestic Network

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., April 9, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Nelson Westerberg, Inc., one of the longest-established global corporate relocation providers in the U.S., recently acquired Lido Van and Storage, an Irvine, Calif. moving and storage company, to expand its domestic operations coast to coast. Lido Van and Storage, founded in 1973, is a single-source provider of transportation and relocation services in the Southern California market.

Nelson Westerberg, family owned since 1904, consistently ranks within the top 250 privately held corporations in Illinois with 2007 consolidated revenue of $88.9 million. As one of the largest agents in the Atlas Van Lines network, Nelson Westerberg employs 250 people nationwide and 120 professional van operators.

The acquisition from Eric Ortiz of Lido Van and Storage as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nelson Westerberg, Inc. was final February 12, 2008. The purchase (sale price undisclosed) adds a key geographic location to Nelson Westerberg's existing domestic network across the U.S. and provides a turn-key operation for the company to compete in California's military and intrastate relocation sectors.

Lido Van and Storage operations include 16,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, existing and established traffic lanes in the intrastate and military sectors in California as well as professional van operators familiar with the market.
