SOUTH BEND, Ind., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashley Brickley, Executive Vice President of Logistick, Inc., announces four new products added to the company's line of freight securement devices. The Logipad and Floor Brace are completely new to the line while the Wedge XL and Wedge International are upgrades of previous offerings. All four products will be manufactured from recycled resins, will incorporate design features that reduce the amount of material needed, employ multi-function features and are themselves completely recyclable.
-- The Logipad is used along with conventional metal load bars to prevent
the load bar from slipping and incorporates a security seal to prevent
theft.
-- The Floor Brace is used to secure palletized loads to the floor.
-- The Wedge XL replaces the Domestic Wedge. The new design has
enhancements that make it more reliable with less material and uses
recycled materials.
-- The Wedge International replaces the International Wedge and features
design enhancements like banding slots, decking capabilities and
security seals.
The entire Logistick product line will be made from recycled materials by the end of 2008. The company will also employ new technologies and manufacturing protocols all with idea of reducing the company's carbon footprint.
In 2008 Logistick will install a 10kW photovoltaic system to the roof of its primary manufacturing center. The solar panels will produce electricity using UNI-SOLAR brand solar products. The founder of Logistick, Tom Kanczuzewski is also a distributor of solar products. UNI-SOLAR, noted for its capacity to generate as much as 20% more electricity than competitive products, is lightweight and ideal for the cloudy conditions found in their Mid-West clime. Solar generated electricity will be used to run the molding equipment used in the manufacturing process for their products.
The company is purchasing hybrid vehicles for its fleet, employing compact fluorescent light bulbs throughout its offices, has an aggressive paper- recycling program and practices energy conservation in all areas. Logistick packaging will get more eco-friendly in 2008 as well when it will be made from recycled materials.
