WASHINGTON, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has launched an information hotline for its members at Allied Holdings, which has filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
"We will continue to fight vigorously on behalf of our members at Allied," said Jim Hoffa, Teamsters General President. "That includes keeping them informed about the latest developments by establishing an information hotline. The Teamsters will not sit idly by while Allied's executives and managers line their pockets at the expense of their workers."
Teamsters who work at Allied, the union's largest car- and truck-hauling employer, may call (800) 734-3314 for the latest information.
In addition to the hotline, members should look for articles regularly posted on the Teamster website so they can receive the latest news and information that will affect their futures.
"Our members need to have access to the latest information, and we will do whatever it takes to provide that to them," said Fred Zuckerman, Director of the Teamsters Carhaul Division.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking women and men in the United States and Canada.
