ATF Offers $10,000 Reward in Arson, Homicide

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ - The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) issued a $10,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the arson fire that claimed the life of four-year-old Amariana Crenshaw at a residence located at 3474 Sweet Pea Way, Calif.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the Sacramento residence at approximately 3:38 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, where upon entry they located the badly burned child. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A scene investigation was conducted by ATF, the Sacramento Fire Department and investigators from the Sacramento Police Department's Homicide and Crime Scene Investigations Unit. Investigators believe an incendiary device was introduced into the home and the device was the direct cause of the fire and subsequent death of Crenshaw.

Investigators are seeking information from the public that may assist them in solving the case.

"Amariana Crenshaw was a young child who became a victim. As parents, uncles, and aunts of young children, the loss of her life impacts all of us. We need to know what happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 11th. We are confident that someone knows who is responsible for this fire; we hope that person will do the right thing and contact us," said ATF's Special Agent in Charge Stephen K. Martin.

Anyone having information should call 1-888-ATF-FIRE.
