Over 60-Percent of Men With Erectile Dysfunction Are Smokers

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- While smoking may boost a man's image and attractiveness, it does the exact opposite when he reaches the moment to live up to expectations.

According to recent studies, 60-percent of all men who smoke suffer from erectile dysfunction - leaving scores of dissatisfied partners burning for more passion. In an effort to dramatically improve upon the high number of failed love making attempts, the Healthy Monday Movement, recommends making Monday the official quit, re-quit and re-commit days to stop smoking, thereby improving the sex lives of all men throughout the country.

To add to the focus on this important issue, and to help renew the resolve of those trying to quit smoking and enjoy the good feeling of making it to another week, Healthy Monday has expanded its relationship with Take Care NY and Smoke Free NY, as well as the New York State Smokers' Quitsite.

This gives smokers 52 opportunities a year to commit to quit smoking. And, if someone does not make it for the whole week, then the next Monday becomes the day to make a fresh start.

"The idea", says Sid Lerner, Chairman of the Healthy Monday Campaign, "is to use Mondays to get people to quit smoking, cut calories, drink less, get their butts off the couch and do all the other things all of us know we should -- but always find excuses not to do."

Healthy Monday (http://www.healthymonday.org) introduces the idea of Monday as the weekly day of health. It's an innovative concept being applied to a variety of public health concerns by a growing network of businesses, consumer groups, advocacy organizations, and schools all dedicated to improving the health of Americans. Healthy Monday is a project of Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications with the support of 40 leading schools of public health as well as major health advocacy organizations, including the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.
