PICKERINGTON, Ohio, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Yarnmarket.com announces the launch of a new interpretation of the Impressionist Collection developed by hand-painted dyeing experts, Twisted Sisters. This brings to fourteen the total number of yarn interpretations now available from renowned manufacturers such as Artyarns, Lorna's Laces, Rio de la Plata and Cherry Tree Hill.
"Twisted Sisters chose wonderful fibers for their interpretations," says Alex Nikifortchuk, COO of Yarnmarket, LLC. "We're thrilled to introduce the new colorways in their popular Mojo, Zazu, Daktari, Lust, and Mirage yarns. We'll be adding more Twisted Sisters yarns to the collection as they become available."
Mojo is a luxuriously soft 90% Mohair and 10% nylon yarn. Zazu is extra fine merino in two strands. Datktari is 100% cotton. Lust is a blend of super kid mohair and silk, and Mirage is a rayon/cotton blend. Paintings selected for the collection include Monet's A Path in Monet's Garden, Van Gogh's Starry Night and Irises, Caillebotte's Paris Street; Rainy Day, Sisley's Snow on the Road, Renoir's Flowers in a Vase and Spring Bouquet, and Dancers at Rest by Degas.
"When you blend the classic colors of these paintings with the modern approach of Twisted Sisters, the results are striking," says Nikifortchuk. "We started receiving orders before the line officially launched."
Terri Cupurdija of Twisted Sisters says, "This collaboration with Yarnmarket was a great opportunity for us to experiment with some of the world's most beloved color combinations. We were careful to ensure we did justice to these masterpieces, and we're certain the yarns will lend themselves to some very unique, creative projects by knitters throughout the world."
Yarnmarket.com serves a global audience from its corporate offices in Pickerington, Ohio. The online retail outlet carries over 500 yarn brands from 50 manufacturers, ranging from basic yarns to specialty and eco-fibers plus patterns, needles and knitting accessories.
"We have a diverse clientele," says Nikifortchuk, "from value-conscious college students looking for an outlet for creative expression to high-end fashion designers who purchase our most expensive, exotic fibers. They come to us from all over the world."
In the past few years, knitting has become an increasingly popular past- time with women and men who want to create and wear unique fashions and accessories. This is part of a trend away from cookie-cutter manufactured goods toward originality and the quality of hand-made items.
Penelope Taylor, Editor of Knit "N Style magazine says, "The trend started a few years ago as women who'd never before considered the hobby picked up knitting needles and began to create scarves. Now, many of them have moved on to more challenging patterns. The new Twisted Sisters Impressionist Collection Yarns will appeal to knitters looking for fashions that are a little different... and very dramatic."
