AT&T U-verse Customers Receive Live Programming on PCs

SAN ANTONIO, March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T U-verse(SM) customers can now enjoy live news, weather, sports and entertainment programming on a PC virtually anywhere they go.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced the availability of AT&T U-verse OnTheGo, a new premium service that will allow AT&T U-verse customers to view live television on a PC using any broadband Internet connection. The service is the first of its kind offered by a television provider. AT&T U-verse OnTheGo is delivered under an existing agreement between AT&T and MobiTV Inc., a global leader in mobile and broadband television and music services.

AT&T U-verse OnTheGo subscribers can access nearly 30 channels, several of which feature live programming -- including The Weather Channel and Bloomberg Television, among others. In the future, AT&T U-verse OnTheGo will also feature U-verse content such as movie trailers for Video-on-Demand (VOD) content, and AT&T plans to add more channels and content.

AT&T U-verse customers can sign up for a 14-day free trial at http://uverse.att.com/OnTheGo . The service is available for as little as $10 a month.

"AT&T U-verse represents the evolution of entertainment, and we're taking that to the next level with AT&T U-verse OnTheGo," said Michael Grasso, assistant vice president-AT&T consumer marketing. "In today's on-demand world, customers want to be able to access news and entertainment using a variety of devices. AT&T U-verse OnTheGo is an example of how we're delivering that type of capability today."

"We see AT&T as one of the world's most forward-looking network operators defining how next-generation media consumers will access whatever content they want, wherever they happen to be," said Kevin Grant, vice president at MobiTV.

In addition, AT&T U-verse OnTheGo will eventually be available using an AT&T wireless device, such as a mobile phone. The service underscores the company's strategy to deliver integrated services to the three screens that consumers value the most: the PC, the TV and the wireless device.

AT&T is the only national provider to offer a 100 percent Internet Protocol (IP)-based television service, making U-verse TV one of the most robust and feature-rich services available today. AT&T U-verse TV includes features and benefits that are unmatched in the marketplace, such as:

-- A compelling variety of TV packages offering more than 300 channels,
including digital music, local and premium movie and sports
     programming.
-- More HD programming than the local cable provider. HD technology
produces images more than twice as detailed as standard analog TV
delivering rich, realistic video and multichannel, movie theater
quality sound. AT&T U-verse offers customers access to a lineup of more
than 25 HD channels, along with HD digital video recording (DVR)
capability. Through March 31, new HD customers can receive two months
of free HD service ($10 a month thereafter).
-- Web remote access to digital video recorder (DVR), which allows AT&T
Yahoo! (R) High Speed Internet customers to schedule recordings using
the Web. This feature is unique to AT&T among video providers.
-- The ability to record up to four programs at once using a DVR receiver,
another exclusive feature that is unmatched today in the marketplace.
-- Built-in picture-in-picture functionality that allows subscribers to
"channel surf" on any television without leaving the program they're
     watching.
-- And now, access to live, streaming broadband television through AT&T
     U-verse OnTheGo.

Now through June 30, qualified new customers can join AT&T U-verse and receive free TV service, including HBO(R) and Cinemax(R), for two months when they choose the U300 or U400 programming package (other monthly charges apply). Thereafter, customers will continue to receive recurring monthly discounts when they subscribe to a bundle of TV and Internet service. In addition, AT&T will offer U-verse TV customers a 60-day money-back guarantee on new service.

The deployment of next-generation video services reflects AT&T's strategy to become customers' preferred communications and entertainment provider and to deliver a video solution through its traditional footprint that provides greater value, flexibility and simplicity than competitors' offerings. AT&T U-verse TV represents a critical new service in the company's video portfolio, which includes AT&T Homezone(SM) service, DIRECTV(R) Service Available from BellSouth, and AT&T | DISH Network service.
