Name Change Reflects Haney's Growing Involvement with Junior Academy

HILTON HEAD, S.C., April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Junior Golf Academy has adopted a new name -- Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy -- to reflect the increased involvement of its world-renowned director of instruction.

Additionally, founder and CEO Ray Travaglione said the academy will open a second campus on the West Coast at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande on California's central coast this August to facilitate regional and international growth and to compliment the existing campus on Hilton Head Island. Founded in 1995 by Travaglione, the academy's diverse enrollment has grown to include students from 22 states and 23 countries.

Acclaimed golf teacher Hank Haney, who has coached Tiger Woods since 2004, will provide hands-on instruction for students at both campuses making Hank Haney IJGA students the coach's only other pupils.

"I truly enjoy working with these kids. It is an inspiration to me as a teacher to see the dedication these students have for improving their game," said Haney, who joined the academy as director of instruction last June.

With the new campus, Haney said there is potential to reach more students in the western United States and Canada as well as international areas where golf continues to grow in popularity, such as Asia, Mexico and South America.

"There is no doubt that a West Coast academy will provide more opportunity for junior golfers around the world," Haney said.

Hank Haney IJGA is the only academy in the world, which provides training, academics and competition for junior golfers interested in achieving their full potential as student athletes. About 90 percent of students receive collegiate golf scholarships.

As with its Hilton Head campus, students at Hank Haney IJGA in California will participate in a structured academic program that gives them flexibility to train with Haney-certified instructors.

Students at the California campus will live in luxury homes at Cypress Ridge with a House Parent providing 24-hour adult supervision. The exclusive campus practice facility includes indoor-video areas and indoor-hitting bays. Jeff Troesch, an expert in mental training for performance enhancement, will serve as director of Hank Haney IJGA in California.
