beRecruited Launches New Online Community; More than 70% of High Schools Active on 'beRecruited Teams'

ATLANTA, April 2, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- beRecruited.com, the nation's largest free online network for high school athletes seeking recruitment from college coaches, has launched beRecruited Teams, an online community for each of the 14,000 high schools represented by the 175,000 high school athletes registered on the site. More than 70% of the approximately 20,000 high schools in the United States have at least one athlete registered on beRecruited.com.

beRecruited Teams (http://teams.berecruited.com) provides a networking platform for like-minded athletes, coaches and fans organized by state, city, and individual high schools, allowing users to share their athletic profiles throughout beRecruited's vast community. These profiles, which feature statistics, photos and video created by the athletes and verified by the high school coach, span the 18 sports that beRecruited currently supports.

beRecruited Teams provides high school coaches with an online area that allows them to promote athletes with collegiate aspirations. Future versions of beRecruited Teams will allow high school coaches to customize these pages for their programs. beRecruited's user-friendly platform connects athletes and coaches from all 50 states and more than 30 different countries, helping to facilitate thousands of NCAA athletic scholarships annually.

California is currently the most active state, with 6,207 profiles from 1,043 different schools. The rest of the top ten most active states are: Texas, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia and New Jersey. The most active high school is St. Ignatius Boys High School in Cleveland, OH, with 51 profiles created. beRecruited was founded in 2000 by Ryan Spoon, a collegiate swimmer for Duke University, in an effort to make the recruiting process more efficient for high school athletes and NCAA coaches.
