Guiding Eyes for the Blind Congratulates Eli Manning and the Giants on Their Super Bowl Win

Eli Manning hosts the June 23, 2008 31st Annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For Guiding Eyes for the Blind, the weekend Super Bowl elicited thoughts of spring and golf. Bill Badger, President and CEO of Guiding Eyes, one of the leading guide dog training schools in the country says "This year's Super Bowl had special meaning for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. We are deeply appreciative that Eli Manning will join us again as host of our 31st Golf Classic. Eli understands that we do not charge the blind for our wonderful Guiding Eyes dogs, and his support helps us raise much needed funds. At last year's outing, he played with our sponsors and stayed at the banquet until the very end. Everyone here -- even our blind graduates, who couldn't watch the game but listened instead -- is moved by Eli's association with Guiding Eyes. On behalf of our staff, our graduates, and our volunteers, Guiding Eyes for the Blind extends its heartiest congratulations to Eli Manning and the New York Giants."

The Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic spotlights 16 blind golfers. Eli says "I feel a special closeness to this event as my family and the family of one of the blind golfers, Pat Browne, Jr., have been friends for many years. Now, being part of the Classic allows me to become even more aware of the very worthwhile things this organization does."

This two-day event will take place on Sunday, June 22 at Mount Kisco Country Club, Mt. Kisco, NY, when 16 blind golfers compete against one another for the coveted "Corcoran Cup. On Monday, June 23, the Classic will be played at both Mount Kisco and Whippoorwill Club in Armonk. Participants play 18 holes of golf with an opportunity to play a few holes with the blind golfers, and will also have the opportunity to meet Eli Manning.
