CLEVELAND, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a fact the "green trend" is no longer a trend, it's here to stay. Soaring energy prices combined with increased awareness have consumers looking to trusted brands for products that conserve energy and perform well. It's this philosophy that led Dirt Devil to design the first ENERGY STAR(R) approved cordless product line.
A brand known for providing consumers with quick and clever ways to clean, Dirt Devil is introducing a line of cordless products with AccuCharge Technology that will also save consumers energy and money while maintaining a high performance level. The AccuCharge cordless hand and stick vac charge twice as fast as traditional cordless products, use 70 percent less energy, have an extended battery life and are the first floor care products to achieve the coveted ENERGY STAR label.
Doug Sandler, director of product development, said, "With energy costs and global warming top-of-mind for consumers, Dirt Devil is committed to offering solutions that help conserve energy, save money and improve the quality of our environment while continuing to improve product performance. Dirt Devil is proud to be the first in the floor care industry to have developed products that meet the selective requirements of the ENERGY STAR label," Sandler said.
The combination of a high-efficiency power supply and an intelligent charger enables AccuCharge technology to achieve a 70 percent reduction in energy consumption and preserve the life of the battery over time, which in turn saves the consumer money. Without a constant flow of power, the battery does not degrade like it does in typical rechargeable products so the suction power and effective running time lasts longer, maintaining the product's performance level.
