Boots No7 Restore & Renew Serum Sells Out in New York City After It Arrives in a Single CVS/pharmacy Store, the Only Location Where It is Currently Available

NEW YORK, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- A CVS/pharmacy store in New York City completely sold out of Boots No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum this morning as quickly as they could ring up sales of their limited supplies. Over half of the stock was sold within the first 30 minutes, and all 500 tubes were sold out by noon EST. The Serum has been sold out in the U.S. for weeks, but Boots shipped a special delivery of the much awaited product to just one location for lucky Manhattanites. The product is a skin-firming and complexion- brightening serum that delivers visible results. Independent tests show that the No7 product has a similar effect to retinoic acid - a prescription-only treatment that's known to repair the signs of photo-aging.

In order to meet the overwhelming demand for the breakthrough product, Boots sold all 500 tubes of the serum available at a CVS/pharmacy location in New York City on July 18 for $21.99. Despite heavy rain and a few claps of thunder, eager customers flocked from miles around, joining a line that began to form at 6:15 a.m. EST. Some came as far as New Jersey and Connecticut, many purchased products for friends and family across the U.S. "I came here at 6:45 this a.m. to wait in line, because I have been trying to get my hands on this for weeks and was so excited to finally try the miracle serum," said Courtenay White of Rye, N.Y.

The excitement over Boots Beauty Serum began after a recent BBC documentary aired in the U.K. "Horizon", looked into the science behind cosmetics, particularly products, which claim to prevent and repair the signs of ageing such as pigmentation, lines and wrinkles. The program found that one product stood out as actually beginning to repair the damage to the skin's structure, Boots No7 Beauty. The Serum sold out immediately in the U.K. and it is being produced at a rate of thousands of bottles per hour to keep up with consumer demand.

"We are thrilled that New Yorkers came out in the rain for No 7 Restore and Renew. We look forward to supplying more Restore and Renew as quickly as possible to the rest of the country." said Martin Waters, CEO of Boots North America. "We appreciate our retail partners CVS/pharmacy and Target working so hard with us to keep customers informed. Our factories are working around the clock to keep up with the demand and are getting it to the U.S. as quickly as possible. "

Boots No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum can normally be purchased at Target stores nationwide, Target.com, select CVS/pharmacy stores and CVS.com. Store shelves are currently awaiting new stock. The Serum is expected to be available on Target.com and CVS.com by the end of July, and in Target and select CVS/pharmacy stores in August. The Boots team is offering a waiting list at http://www.boots.com/, enabling customers to be the first to be notified when shipments arrive on-line and in-store.
