Coldwater Creek Adds Senior HR Executive to Management Team

SANDPOINT, Idaho, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Coldwater Creek (NASDAQ: CWTR) today announced it has named Brett Avner, Ph.D., to the post of Senior Vice President of Human Resources. He brings more than 25 years of experience in leading large-scale organizational talent management, executive team development and long-term succession planning to the position.

Avner's career spanned several years as a human resources executive in the banking and insurance industries before he joined Victoria's Secret as Vice President of Human Resources, where he was responsible for attracting and developing key talent for a chain of nearly 1,000 retail locations that employed more than 20,000 sales associates. More recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Chico's FAS, Inc., where he led the process of developing leadership succession planning and implementing new processes for performance management, compensation and associate retention. In his new position with Coldwater Creek, Avner will report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Pence.
