Introducing BISSELL's new Healthy Home Vacuum(TM)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- BISSELL Homecare, Inc. announces the introduction of a new vacuum cleaner in October that will make consumers re-evaluate their standards for cleanliness. The new Healthy Home Vacuum(TM) will be available nationwide for $299.99 and is built like no other vacuum to help consumers maintain a healthier home.

Healthier clean advantage

Health-minded consumers will take comfort in the Healthy Home Vacuum featuring multi-cyclonic cleaning technology for superior cleaning and Airetight(TM) HEPA filtration to trap and seal in 100 percent of pollen, mold spores, ragweed and dust mites. Combined, these advanced technologies work together to specifically target the hidden allergens within a typical home including dust mites, pet dander, pollen and ragweed to give the vacuum a healthier advantage over other vacuums.

  Features and Benefits
  Superior cleaning

BISSELL's latest multi-cyclonic cleaning technology provides consumers non-stop suction for superior cleaning. With its 12 amps of maximum power, the Healthy Home Vacuum thoroughly cleans carpet, stairs, bare floors, upholstery and more. The vacuum provides seven floor height adjustments to accommodate the needs of any home. Plus, for hard floor surfaces the Healthy Home Vacuum has a fingertip switch to turn the brush off to safely clean delicate bare floors.

Airetight HEPA filtration

In addition to its superior suction power, the vacuum's Airetight HEPA filter traps and seals in 100 percent of pollen, mold spores, ragweed and dust mites. The advanced filtration system prevents the spread of these allergens, and purifies the air while vacuuming, helping to create a healthier home environment.

Microban(R) antimicrobial product protection

To fight the growth of odor-causing microbes like bacteria, mold and mildew within the Healthy Home Vacuum, BISSELL has added Microban antimicrobial product protection. Microban protection is built into the vacuum parts during the manufacturing process and continually provides protection against microbes throughout the life of the product.

Proprietary Technology

BISSELL has an exclusive category contract with Microban International and will be the only bagless vacuum manufacturer to incorporate the technology into their vacuum parts in North America.

"Consumers today are concerned about day-to-day exposure to bacteria and mold. These microbes can grow within vacuum parts that come in contact with dirt, debris and allergens while vacuuming," said Jim Krzeminski, BISSELL's executive vice president of product development, sales and marketing. "The Healthy Home Vacuum offers a variety of cleaning conveniences, and the addition of Microban protection provides added comfort to health-conscious consumers," added Krzeminski.

Everyday convenience

The Healthy Home Vacuum comes with a host of features that make it convenient for everyday use around the home. The fingertip power control on the vacuum's soft grip ergonomic handle means that consumers don't have to continually reach down to turn on and off the vacuum. Plus, its long 35-foot power cord gives greater reach, in order to clean a larger area before unplugging the power cord to continue cleaning. Additionally, its extra-wide fifteen-inch cleaning path and anti-clog hose design make cleaning faster.

The Easy Empty(TM) dirt container's clear construction lets consumers see their progress as they vacuum up dirt, debris and allergens in their home. Plus, it shows when it's time to empty the container. Adding to its versatility, the vacuum comes equipped with a variety of on-board tools. These include a 12-foot, long-reach hose, ideal for cleaning stairs; a rotating TurboBrush(R) great for pet hair and stairs; as well as a combo tool and a crevice tool for cleaning other hard-to-reach places.

Added allergen protection

Thirty-eight million Americans are allergic to dust mite allergens, which are the number one cause of indoor allergies. To extend the cleaning power of the Healthy Home Vacuum, it comes packaged with a home treatment kit that includes Acarosan(R) dust mite powder and Acarosan dust mite control spray. Acarosan products kill dust mites and incorporate a patented "micro-sponge" cleaning technology, which is designed to adhere to smaller dirt particles and specific dust mite allergens, creating larger particles so that the vacuum can effectively remove them from carpet and upholstery fibers. Both the dust mite powder and the spray are water-based with no added fragrance to minimize odor and sensitization.
