New Consumer and Personal Finance Magazine From TMS Launches Exclusively on Amazon Kindle

CHICAGO, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Services (TMS) today announced the launch of a new Consumer and Personal Finance magazine called CASH: Personal Finance for Real People. The weekly magazine is distributed exclusively on Amazon Kindle -- the innovative wireless reading device recently endorsed by Oprah Winfrey as "life-changing." The first issue of CASH is currently available on a free trial download and subscription basis for Kindle customers. TMS is the content syndication and licensing division of Chicago-based Tribune Company and also publishes Opinionated, a social and political opinion magazine on Kindle.

Kindle is Amazon's portable reader that wirelessly downloads books, blogs, magazines and newspapers to a crisp, high-resolution electronic paper display that looks and reads like real paper.

"CASH is a very timely new tool created to help American consumers evaluate their options for spending, saving and investing decisions they confront each day," said Steve Tippie, TMS vice president of marketing and licensing and the magazine's publisher. "More than ever in this country's history, people are looking for tested, authoritative and practical help managing their money. To meet this need, we pull the best advice and information from dozens of TMS sources to tailor a continually-updated handbook to being a smart consumer."

In addition to traditional investing and saving tips by experts like Andrew Leckey, Humberto Cruz and Kiplinger's, CASH helps readers with questions like: Should you pay your kids to bring home good grades? What are the best ways to secure personal loans from banks? Is it still a good idea to lease rather than purchase a car? Can you really save money by flying to India, staying in a luxury hotel and having local surgeons perform your coronary bypass?"

CASH draws its material from financial experts and publications syndicated by TMS, providing a depth and breadth of resources unparalleled in a consumer publication. Among its many contributors are U.S. News and World Report, Kiplinger's Consumer News Service, Andrew Leckey's Successful Investing, the Los Angeles Times' premier financial columnist Kathy Kristof, health advice from the Mayo Clinic, Retire Smart by Mark Miller, Kids and Money by Steve Rosen, Ask the Builder by home repair guru Tim Carter, automotive advice and reviews from Jim Mateja, travel advice from Rick Steves and Christopher Elliott, and many more.

CASH features the following sections: Savvy Investing; Managing Your Money; Managing Your Career; Kids and Money; Retire Smart; Home, Family and Health; and Travel Smart. For more information about TMS' Cash and our other Kindle magazines, visit http://tmskindle.com/

CASH will be published weekly on Mondays and will cost $.49 an issue and $1.49 for a monthly magazine subscription.
