Scholastic Acquires Worldwide English-Language Rights to Guillaume Prevost's Thrilling Adventure Trilogy, The Book Of Time

NEW YORK, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Scholastic has acquired worldwide English-language publishing rights to the fantasy adventure trilogy, The Book of Time, by Guillaume Prevost, from French publisher Gallimard Jeunesse, in a major pre-emptive deal. The first title, The Stone Statue, will be released simultaneously in the US, UK, and Australia in fall 2007.

One part Da Vinci Code, one part Dracula, and one part The Time-Traveler's Wife, The Book of Time trilogy focuses on 14-year-old Sam, whose quest to find his father takes him through time to ancient Egypt, Viking England, Dracula's castle, and beyond. The first book in the trilogy, The Stone Statue, was published in France this past February. Award-winning translator William Rodarmor will be handling the translation.

The Book of Time is the first young adult work from Guillaume Prevost who is well-known in France for his acclaimed adult historical thrillers. Born on the island of Madagascar in 1964, Prevost currently teaches history at the Universite du Havre outside of Paris.
