NEWBURYPORT, Mass., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Quality Solutions Inc. (QSI), the leading provider of integrated editorial, marketing, and production management software for book publishers, today announced the formal launch of "Hosted Shared Solutions" (HSS). QSI's web-based title management system and bibliographic metadata delivery services, called eloquence, is now accessible and affordable for publishers of all sizes.
"We are very excited about this launch and feel that it's a win-win-win situation for publishers, their trading partners, and for Quality Solutions," said Fran Toolan, Founder and President of Quality Solutions. "For years, publishers have been asking us to offer a title management solution integrated with our data delivery services, that doesn't require a large capital expenditure, and now we have something to offer in response. We have purposely created different plans to meet the needs of different size publishers."
For publishers, especially those who currently rely on spreadsheets to manage title information, HSS offers an opportunity to leverage industrial- strength software developed for leading publishers. HSS includes access to a web-enabled version of QSI's widely used Title Management Module. Once title information is loaded or entered into HSS, publishers can take advantage of eloquence to get it converted into multiple data formats and transmitted electronically to all of their customers on a weekly basis -- all by simply clicking a box.
For publishing industry trading partners, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Ingram, Bowker, Baker & Taylor and others, HSS offers an opportunity to standardize communications. Instead of receiving separate files from each publisher, the trading partners receive properly formatted consolidated files from eloquence. As a result, publishers' product information can be made available to potential buyers much more rapidly -- leading to improved sales performance.
As the needs of the industry change, HSS makes the technological hurdles transparent. "Quality Solutions takes care of the technology," said Toolan, "leaving publishers and their customers more time to focus on positioning the titles."
HSS represents an opportunity for QSI to expand its client base to include many publishers who for years have expressed the need for a real title database, but who lacked the financial resources to implement one, until now. Quality Solutions is building a team of value added resellers (VAR) to reach out to specific publishing associations and communities, and to help market HSS to the industry at large.
The system has been available in Beta for about a year and already boasts clients: Scholastic, U.S. Government Printing Office, Moody Bible Distributors, Hay House, Slack, and others.
