Paradigm(TM) Posts Scientific Challenge to InnoCentive(R)

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Paradigm(TM) ( www.pdgm.com ), a leading provider of enterprise software solutions to the global oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) industry, announces that it has posted a scientific challenge to InnoCentive's Open Innovation Marketplace. Paradigm's challenge prompts InnoCentive's Solver community to develop an advanced approach to fracture net representation. The announcement was made at the 78th Annual Meeting of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in Las Vegas.

Paradigm's challenge specifically targets a unique new ability to combine fault interpretation picks (vectors) to form high-performance representations of 3D fracture networks. Paradigm's advanced 3D fracture net representation would enable easier facilitation geometric enquiries, on displacements at fault locations and in aggregate and topological tests, on connectedness.

Paradigm signed a contract with InnoCentive in October 2008 to augment internal technology development and accelerate innovation delivery to the industry. The company plans on posting additional critical high-priority challenges on InnoCentive for open innovation. The agreement connects Paradigm's science and technology experts with InnoCentive's global network of "Solvers," a community of progressive physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and other scientists.
