Whiting Petroleum Announces Promotion of Douglas L. Walton to Vice President and National Drilling Manager of Its Operating Subsidiary

DENVER, March 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Whiting Petroleum Corporation NYSE: WLL today announced the promotion of Douglas L. Walton to Vice President and National Drilling Manager of Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation, its wholly owned operating subsidiary, effective March 1, 2008. Mr. Walton joined Whiting in June 2004 as Manager-Drilling. Mr. Walton has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He holds a BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering and is in the Executive MBA Program at the University of Denver.
