Ricoh Americas Corporation Unveils the Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series

These monochrome systems incorporate state-of-the-art copy, usability features, and quick print capabilities as well as advanced technology and security features. Ideal for mid- to high-volume environments, the Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series provides fast print speeds, superior control and easy-to-use features to help users save time and money.

The Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series replaces the Aficio MP 5500/MP 6500/MP 7500 Series. To meet the changing needs of the marketplace, Ricoh upgraded the Aficio MP 5500/MP 6500/MP 7500 Series and increased its print speeds to offer users more efficient and productive copiers at an aggressive price point. With speeds of 60 pages per minute (ppm), 70 ppm and 80 ppm, respectively, the Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series provides users with professional, high-quality, black and white prints. In addition, quick warm- up times and a single-pass duplexing document feeder that scans up to 75 originals per-minute help accelerate workflow in fast-paced work environments. Users can also benefit from comprehensive faxing capabilities with the optional facsimile hardware.

Ricoh also makes advanced functions simple with a user-friendly display. The Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series incorporates an easy-to-read touch-screen control panel. Large, bright type and shortcut buttons allow jobs to be quickly selected, cutting through the standard menu pages to get users started and finished faster. The operation panel can be customized using the Java-compatible (J2ME) software development program so the system aligns with unique business needs. In addition, the Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series enables users to create professional documents effortlessly with advanced external finishing options such as a cover interposer, a 100-sheet stapling finisher, the Ricoh BK5010 Production Booklet Maker, and a Z-fold unit that cuts down over-sized documents to a more convenient size. Also available are two or three-hole punch units and a more advanced system that uses the in-line GBC III StreamPunch unit with interchangeable die set to accommodate nine types of hole punching.

The Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 Series is also compatible with the new software solutions that Ricoh debuted at AIIM/On Demand in March 2008, including eCopy ShareScan Suite document scanning and security solutions for a variety of workgroup sizes, Print Director Assessment and Cost Recovery software solutions, and Ricoh Dataworks3 middleware solution designed to enhance variable data printing (VDP).

Maintaining document security is essential in today's business environment, so Ricoh equipped the Aficio MP 6000/MP 7000/MP 8000 with reliable and effective security solutions to protect information from print to transmission to distribution. Latent images on the internal hard drive are removed through the optional DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS), while confidential information can be safeguarded with the Unauthorized Copy Control feature that protects sensitive documents with an embedded message that appears if a document is copied. Users can ensure confidentiality with Locked Print, which releases files for output only after the correct password is entered. Additionally, passwords can be assigned to PDFs that only intended recipients would have access to and up to 500 user codes can be assigned to employees or departments to prevent unauthorized usage of the systems.

The Aficio MP 6000 is available at a suggested retail price of $17,000, the Aficio MP 7000 is available for $21,500, and the Aficio MP 8000 retails for $28,000.

In addition, the Series is available in a multifunction configuration (the Aficio MP 6000 SP/MP 7000 SP/MP 8000 SP Series) that incorporates printing and scanning capabilities to provide even more versatility. The Aficio MP 6000 SP retails for $20,300, the Aficio MP 7000 SP has a suggested retail price of $24,800, and the Aficio MP 8000 SP is available for $31,300.
