BELLEVUE, Wash., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Alerts.com(TM) (http://www.alerts.com), a free online alerts service designed to help consumers save time and money by creating, managing and controlling how they receive information, today announced that it has signed four new technology partnerships with Message Systems, 4INFO and Phone.com.
These partnerships are all designed to provide the company with a scalable delivery platform able to handle millions of messages almost instantly. Message Systems will provide the e-mail back-end processing, 4INFO will provide a short message system (SMS) gateway and integrated SMS ad network, and Phone.com will provide call termination and monetization for voice call alerts.
In developing its back-end and alert delivery capabilities, Alerts.com looked for best-of-breed solutions and partners to power its platform and the message distribution requirements, which represent more than 90 percent of user requested distribution channels.
Message Systems is the worldwide provider of e-mail software solutions and services for e-mail service providers (ESPs) and Internet service providers (ISPs) and will provide its Message Transfer Agent (MTA) to power and manage the delivery of millions of e-mail alerts worldwide.
"E-mail is a mission critical component of our business and after evaluating the various e-mail platform providers it was clear that Message Systems is the company that professionals rely upon," said Pascal Stolz, chief executive officer of Alerts.com. "With its high profile customer list and unparalleled service offerings, the choice was obvious."
"Alerts.com is breaking new ground with its user requested alert and notification platform through e-mail," said Barry Abel, vice president of field operations of Message Systems. "With Message Systems' carrier-class MTA, Alerts.com can ensure that millions of unique alerts and notifications can be delivered smoothly and rapidly."
Under the terms of the 4INFO partnership Alerts.com will use 4INFO's Publishing Platform as the text message gateway for the majority of its SMS and text messages in the United States. The agreement will also aid Alerts.com in the monetization of text messages by leveraging the 4INFO advertising network.
"4INFO has established itself as the clear leader in the mobile advertising space," said Stolz. "Marketing and advertising on mobile devices are a science and an art and 4INFO has a proven ability to monetize the messages they deliver. Working with 4INFO is a logical partnership opportunity for Alerts.com."
Finally, Alerts.com and Phone.com joined forces to power phone based alerts such as emergency and Wake Up call alerts and other voice alert requirements. Such alerts are particularly important for the newly announced MySchoolAlerts program. Under the agreement, Phone.com will offer text to speech transcription services and termination of all calls for Alerts.com.
