LEXINGTON, Mass., Sept 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Gomez Inc., the leader in web application experience management, has deepened its management bench with the appointments of three industry veterans. Ed Murray joins as SVP of Research and Development (R&D) and Operations; J. Scott Burnett is hired as VP of Worldwide Network Operations and Network Engineering; and Craig Cohen is appointed VP of Lead Generation Programs.
Murray assumes overall responsibility for Gomez's development and delivery operations on a worldwide basis, reporting to CEO Jaime Ellertson. He comes to Gomez with more than two decades experience and leadership in product management, engineering and operations. Most recently, Murray was SVP of Global R&D with Witness Systems, Inc. where he achieved significant improvements in R&D productivity, product quality, and time to market for Witness Systems' workforce optimization software. Previously, during his tenure as CTO and VP, Product Management at Webhire, Inc. Murray helped transform the company's business strategy and staffing automation solution into a profitable software-as-service model. Murray's career also spans VP and director-level positions at the Instream Corporation and Lotus Development Corporation.
Burnett joins Gomez from Arbor Networks, Inc. and takes on specific responsibility for worldwide network operations and client services, reporting directly to Murray. Prior, Burnett held the position of VP of Worldwide Operations and Network Engineering for Arbor Networks, managing all aspects of global sales, technical operations, engineering, and professional services, where he ultimately contributed to the company's extreme sales growth. Prior to this, Burnett was VP of Engineering and Operations and General Manager at NaviPath, Inc. (CMGI) and has also held senior positions at Liberty Global, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Qwest Communications.
Cohen joins Gomez as VP of Lead Generation Programs and takes on the responsibility to develop and manage integrated demand generation and marketing programs targeting Gomez customers and prospects worldwide. He brings almost two decades of expertise in business development to Gomez's marketing team and will report to Gomez's VP of Marketing, William Agush. Formerly, Cohen was the Director of Marketing Programs at Brainshark, Inc. where he supported the company's rapid growth by developing demand generation programs that resulted in industry-leading response rates and lead-to-sales conversions. Previously, he was Director of Marketing and Business Development for Monstermoving.com, a division of Monster.com, and has also held senior marketing positions at Passaic Parc, Be Free, Stratus Computer, Progress Software and Iron Mountain.
