Armada Companies Changes Name to Alaris Companies, LLC

PETALUMA, Calif., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Petaluma, CA-based maritime services company Armada Companies, LLC, has changed its name to Alaris Companies, LLC, company founder and CEO Bobbi Wolff announced. Founded in 2005 as Armada Companies, the company initially provided staffing/crewing services to the maritime industry along with marine engineering and project management services. Over the past two years, it has added substantial shipboard energy audit and energy management components to its menu of service options.

"As we have grown Armada Companies and entered more deeply into the international market, we discovered there were trademark issues that might have taken a protracted legal process to resolve," said Wolff. "Meanwhile, we had a growing company to run and the opportunity to claim a wonderful new name that works perfectly for us."

The word "Alaris" is a Latin adjective meaning "belonging to the wings of an army; of/consisting of auxiliary cavalry or allied troops."

"The idea of being an 'auxiliary cavalry' and 'allied troops,' available like the 'wings of an army' in support of our clients, had a lot of appeal," said Wolff.
