Woman's Day Magazine Presents 'The Red Dress Awards,' Honoring Women Who Are Leaders in the Fight Against Heart Disease

NEW YORK, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Woman's Day magazine's Red Dress Awards will kick off American Heart Month by honoring three women who have made groundbreaking strides in the fight against heart disease, the number one killer of women today.

Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart will emcee the event on Thursday, February 1st at the Stone Rose Lounge in New York City and will receive a special Red Dress Award for her role in promoting heart health to the public.

"Heart disease continues to be a silent killer today -- many women of all ages and health history are unaware they are at serious risk," said Jane Chesnutt, Editor-in-Chief of Woman's Day, and board member of the American Heart Association in New York City. "We, at Woman's Day, are proud to honor these exceptional pioneers in the field of cardiovascular health for bringing the needed awareness to the public towards this preventable illness."

The event is sponsored by Bayer Healthcare (platinum level), Campbell's Healthy Request, Triscuit, Walgreens and Swarovski (gold level).

Honorees will be featured in the February 13 issue of Woman's Day, on newsstands January 23. The 2007 Red Dress Award recipients are:

     children and adults.

been an active participant in the successful Heart Truth campaign, an
initiative started by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute

also serves as the head of the Women's Heart Program at the George

about women's cardiovascular issues. In addition to her role as head of
the Mayo Clinic Women's Heart Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Hayes
chairs the advisory board for WomenHeart, a patient advocacy
