Two Sure Signs of Spring: Income Taxes & Yard Care

MILWAUKEE, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Once your taxes are done, it's time to focus on the outdoors and get answers to your lawn, garden and yard care equipment questions. The Yard Smarts Hotline returns for 2008 to offer free professional advice.

This year, the free Hotline will be up and running from April 15 through May 15. Professionals will be available to offer solutions to pesky problems and "how to" tips on lawn and garden topics ranging from organic yard care and controlling weeds to keeping lawn and garden equipment operating in like-new condition.

During the 30 days the Yard Smarts Hotline is active, consumers can either call the toll-free Hotline number, 1-866-YARD-TIPS (1-866-927-3847), or submit an e-mail by visiting http://www.yardsmarts.com. All questions will be answered personally within 48 hours. Every Friday the Hotline is operating (April 18 and 25, and May 2 and 9), homeowners can speak directly with lawn and garden experts from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. CDT. The annual Hotline is sponsored by small engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton Corporation.

Heading the list of experts is the Briggs & Stratton Yard Doctor, Trey Rogers. Rogers, who has more than 20 years of experience in the science of turf grass, has helped design and grow playing field grass for the Olympic Games and World Cup soccer.

Joining Rogers is a team of lawn and garden experts who will field any questions homeowners may have about their lawns, trees, flowers, weeds, pests or other concerns. For equipment queries, consumers may talk to one of 20 Briggs & Stratton experts.
