Orlando Hotel Celebrates Silver Anniversary with a Silver Celebration for Miracles
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Orlando Airport Marriott recently celebrated the success of the hotel's Children's Miracle Network fundraiser, "Silver Celebration for Miracles" with a donation of over $9,000 to the Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network. Both organizations partnered to raise funds for the charity while celebrating the hotel's twenty-fifth anniversary. The fundraiser took place Wednesday, December 10th at the Orlando, Florida airport hotel. All proceeds will benefit Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.
Children's Miracle Network Spokesperson, Amy Moyer said, "It was a pleasure to celebrate the Orlando Airport Marriott's 25th Anniversary and the support given to Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network is greatly appreciated. The partnership between Marriott and Children's Miracle Network began twenty-five years ago when they signed on as the first national sponsor and since that time Marriott International has raised in excess of $62 million dollars."
About 250 supporters attended Silver Celebration for Miracles at the Orlando, Florida hotel, including 8-year-old Allison Scheirer. Scheirer was treated for an Osteoblastoma on her spinal cord and spine. She received assistance from the Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network for her illness and spoke about her surgery at the event.
The event also included a silent auction, trivia from 25 years ago, fireworks and a Glenlivet Scotch tasting provided by co-sponsor Southern Wine & Spirits. Orlando radio station, Sunny 105.9 also served as co-sponsor. Roy Nassau, General Manager of the Orlando Airport Marriott added, "It was a spectacular evening where we could show off our Marriott pride with our 25th anniversary for friends and colleagues while supporting Children's Miracle Network."
Through December and into 2009, the Orlando airport hotel will continue to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a group meetings promotion centered around the hotel's silver anniversary.
