Technology Law Pioneer Peter Brown Joins Baker Hostetler's New York Office

NEW YORK, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Baker Hostetler announced today that renowned technology law practitioner Peter Brown has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the Business Group. Mr. Brown was the founder and Co-Managing Partner of Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner-which began as a two-lawyer boutique in 1979-for 27 years, where he was responsible for all aspects of the development, strategy and operations of the New York-based commercial law firm.

Mr. Brown, who was most recently Co-Head of the Technology Litigation Practice at Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP, will lead Baker Hostetler's national Technology Law Practice team. Additionally, Mr. Brown will advise clients on a wide variety of matters relating to information technology, including transactions involving computer systems, computer outsourcing, hardware and software licensing, new media, and computer law.

Mr. Brown has extensive experience counseling clients on a wide variety of transactions involving computer systems, computer outsourcing, software licensing, technology acquisitions, e-commerce, privacy and data security. He has also assisted and counseled numerous new ventures on business issues in the fields of technology and e-commerce. Mr. Brown has litigated numerous matters involving intellectual property, open source disputes, failed computer systems, electronic systems and components, and general commercial disputes.

In addition to co-authoring the "Computer Law" column for the New York Law Journal since 1981, he is also Co-Chair of the Practicing Law Institute's Annual Technology Law Institute. Mr. Brown is the former Co-Chair of the ABA's Computer Litigation Committee, and former Chair of the Computer Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
