Axiom Adds Pharma Veteran to Enhance Life Sciences Division

New York, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Axiom, a new model firm focused on the legal industry, announced today that Beth P. Hecht, a 20-year veteran of the life sciences industry with extensive experience as General Counsel, has joined the firm as Senior Advisor to the Client Development team.

Most recently, Hecht was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of MedPointe Inc. (formerly Carter Wallace Inc.), a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Somerset, NJ. Hecht has also built and run legal departments as the General Counsel of three other life science companies, Warner Chilcott PLC, ChiRex Ltd., and Alpharma Inc. Prior to those corporate positions, she was an attorney at the New York offices of Kirkland & Ellis and Willkie Farr & Gallagher, specializing in corporate transactions and intellectual property.

As an advisor to the Life Sciences practice, she will guide business development efforts and help build Axiom's attorney team.

"We are thrilled to have Beth join our team in New York and look forward to having her experience in the life sciences sector," said Mark Harris, founder and CEO of Axiom. "Beth has first-hand knowledge of the challenges general counsels face, and we expect to fill a void in that industry for high- level legal work without the high retainers, bureaucracy, and anxiety that plague traditional law firms."

Hecht is a graduate of the Harvard Law School and Amherst College.
