EVANSVILLE, Ind., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Two unidentified men driving a U.S. Government licensed car made an unannounced visit to the crafts and jewelry business of Mark Lightfoot of Lexington, Kentucky. The pair visited the business in an unsuccessful attempt to intimidate him for his support of the Liberty Dollar.
Bernard von NotHaus, the free market advocate behind the Liberty Dollar, responded by posting an urgent alert to all Liberty Dollar merchants, with the headline: "WARNING: You may be visited by the government. And they may not be there to help you."
According to von NotHaus, "The 'G-boys' -- as they are not worthy to be called 'agents' with such non-professional conduct -- never identified themselves when they tried to invade Mark's privacy. But with their government licensed car parked out front, there's no doubt he was visited by two of our government's finest. They asked him what he thought about the war, taxes, George Bush -- even his Social Security number!"
"And then," von NotHaus explains, "They got to the nitty-gritty -- loaded questions about the Liberty Dollar. These guys wanted to know everything he thought: 'Why do you accept the Liberty Dollar? Why is government money a problem?'"
"After that, these two G-boys decided to berate poor Mark," says von NotHaus, "They browbeat him with slogans like, 'You can't take it to the bank,' and 'It's not a currency,' and 'It's NOT real money!' In a parting shot, as if from a grade B movie, they tossed him their final insult, 'Do you feel like you're a good American?'"
Von NotHaus says, "I have alerted all Liberty Dollar merchants to do what Mark did. If you're approached, just tell the truth: You're glad to be a 'good American' who's doing what is right. And you're honored to accept Liberty Dollar as private voluntary barter currency -- and never refer to it as a 'coin,' 'legal tender,' or 'current money,' -- and be sure to demand proper identification from any suspicious visitors."
"It appears the 'G-boys' may be getting a little antsy as the government prepares to respond to our lawsuit against the U.S. Mint. This is all baloney and they know it!" says von NotHaus. "We're still waiting for them to remove from their website all claims that using, not possession, of the Liberty Dollar is a federal crime."
