NEW YORK, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Panther Express (http://www.pantherexpress.net), a leading global provider of content delivery services, today named Dennis Morgan chief financial officer. Morgan joins Panther from Vibrant Media, the video and contextual advertising network, where he was also CFO.
In addition to his appointment at Panther Express, Morgan was named partner in AlleyCorp, the network of six affiliated Internet companies founded by former DoubleClick CEO, Kevin P. Ryan (http://www.alleycorp.com/execs.jxp), of which Panther is part. Morgan will have full oversight of all finance activities at the CDN as well as the five other companies in the network.
"Both Panther and AlleyCorp quickly developed needs beyond those of typical startups and called for someone with extensive experience in high-growth companies," said Kevin Ryan, AlleyCorp's chairman and CEO. "Dennis' skills aligned perfectly with our directives and we're confident he will ably support our continued expansion."
A senior financial executive with nearly two decades experience in partnership development, mergers & acquisitions, financing, budgeting, forecasting, tax and accounting, Morgan has especially deep expertise in Internet and media companies. At Vibrant, which operates a global network that reaches more than 120 million users, he developed and executed short and long-term fiscal strategies and oversaw all of the company's financial efforts including valuations, capital raises, budget and forecasting and GAAP compliance. Morgan will have similar responsibilities in his new role.
Prior to Vibrant, Morgan spent nearly five years at Yahoo! Inc., working his way from director to vice president of corporate finance. At the search giant, he was responsible for leading the financial aspects of all significant revenue, partnership and spending transactions and implementing global planning processes. He played an integral role in the acquisitions of Inktomi, Overture, Kelkoo and Musicmatch and created global, company-wide standards that significantly increased corporate control.
Morgan began his finance career as a mergers & acquisitions professional at Thomas Weisel Partners LLC and BT Alex. Brown.
Morgan earned an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and a BA from Dartmouth College.
