Wayne A. Jones Joins Squire Sanders IP Practice

PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Intellectual property lawyer Wayne A. Jones has joined the Palo Alto office of global law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P., increasing the depth of the firm's patent practice. Jones, who previously led the Silicon Valley IP practice for Greenberg Traurig, also has extensive experience as top-level in-house counsel at a variety of international technology companies.

Jones' in-house counsel experience includes serving as chief patent counsel for Occidental Chemical Company, vice president and chief patent counsel for DSC/Alcatel, vice president and general counsel for SAPMarkets, and chief IP officer for SAP AG. He is an emeritus member of the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel (ACPC), which he served as president from 2002 through 2003, and as a member of its executive committee from 1997 until 2004. He also served as a member of the board of directors for the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the Intellectual Property Owners Association.

He received his B.S. in chemical engineering, with high honors, in 1978 from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from Duke University in 1981.
