Claria Completes Successful Beta of PersonalWeb

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Claria(SM) (http://www.claria.com/) announced today it has completed a successful beta test of PersonalWeb(SM) (http://www.personalweb.com/), a free dynamic, personalized home page that automatically brings consumers content and advertising to match their online interests.

Claria introduced PersonalWeb in April 2006 as the proving ground for its underlying personalization platform, and more than 800,000 people have installed the product that automatically learns their interests, finds content to match and displays that content in an easy-to-navigate start page format.

During its PersonalWeb beta program, Claria found that consumers interacted with the automatically personalized home page up to three times more often than basic portal home pages. In addition, it delivers Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standard banner advertisements so well-tailored to the user's interests that they generate up to 15 times the average click through rate of traditional banner ads.

In addition to high interaction rates on the PersonalWeb page, Claria has also seen an increase in the interaction with the sites that provide the content on PersonalWeb. When users are referred to a site by PersonalWeb, these users view up to 35 percent more pages and spend up to 50 percent more time there than consumers who find the publisher site through other means.

Claria has engaged in relationships with distribution partners to bring personalization benefits to their millions of consumers. The first of these partners, Rogers Communications will be launching their co-branded version of PersonalWeb this quarter. Claria has also signed agreements with Corel and ZTGroup. Additional partnerships with OEMs, software providers, and website publishers will be announced throughout the year.

"This partnership creates a great business opportunity for us to provide our customers with the most relevant information from all over the Web," Kevin Bartus, Vice-President, Rogers Digital Media. "The successful beta program and continued use of the product by Web users strongly validates the product's ability to organize and present relevant information based on user behavior."

"After a successful beta period and hundreds of thousands of trial users, we are confident in our ability to provide our partners with a platform for further personalizing their users' Web experience," said Scott VanDeVelde, President and CEO, Claria Corporation. "We will be rolling out with additional partners as well as leveraging the platform to provide personalization services across multiple devices in the coming months."
