Webster University Business School Unveils New Global MBA

11-Month Program Features Nine-Week Terms At Five International Webster Campus Locations

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Webster University School of Business and Technology today introduced the first MBA degree that is truly global. This fall, the multinational university will offer its MBA program to full-time graduate students who will study at Webster campus locations in five international business capitals: Geneva, Leiden, London, Shanghai and Vienna.

"The Global MBA program will allow students to study at Webster University while living for nine weeks in each of these dynamic international locations," said Benjamin Ola. Akande, dean of Webster's School of Business and Technology.

Webster University's unique position as a worldwide institution with 108 campuses spanning three continents - from the United States to Europe and Asia - allows it to provide a true Global MBA, according to Dr. Akande. He adds, "Students will study inside and outside of the classroom in each of the five countries. After this 11-month immersion, the successful students will have earned their MBA graduate degree."

Len Even, director of Webster's campus in Leiden, the Netherlands, said the program enables students interested in an international business career to achieve a Webster MBA degree in one academic year while having a unique global experience. "At my campus," he said, "students will visit The Hague, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange and the Social Economic Council, a major economic advisory group of the Dutch government, while taking courses in finance and marketing."

Other highlights of Webster's Global MBA include:

-- Geneva - Students will take courses in applied business statistics and organizational behavior, and visit sites such as the United Nations Office at Geneva, one of the busiest intergovernmental conference centers in the world and a focal point for multilateral diplomacy, the Musee International de la Croix-Rouge and the Musee d'Art et d'Histoire.

-- London - Students will study advanced corporate finance, operations and project management, and visit Lloyds of London and the London Stock Exchange.

-- Shanghai - Webster was the first American university to receive approval from the Beijing Ministry of Education to offer joint MBA instruction, and students at this campus will attend courses in managerial economics and management accounting.

-- Vienna - This campus will feature courses in international law and business, strategy and competition, as well as visits to OPEC and to multinational corporations.

The program fee for the 2008-09 Global MBA degree program is $40,000, which includes 36 hours of graduate tuition, housing during each nine-week academic term, pre-departure materials, and all textbooks. Students will be responsible for airfare, their own meals, housing between academic terms, personal living expenses, visas, and any costs associated with travel between Webster's campuses. The deadline for applications to the program is March 1, 2008.
