TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 16 -- The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism today opened registration for its upcoming cycle of free single-day workshops for working journalists.
Topics at locations around the country include "The New Business Coverage: From Blogs to 'Round the Clock News;" "Covering Private Companies and Non-Profits;" "Investigative Business Journalism" and "From Financials to Writing with Style."
Host cities are Phoenix; Kansas City; Dallas; Vancouver, Wash.; New York City; Washington, D.C.; and Atlanta.
"Our goal is to provide working journalists with cutting-edge tools they need for the important job of covering business," said Andrew Leckey, Director of the Reynolds Center based at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. "Thousands have benefited from our training and these topics reflect those most requested by editors, writers and broadcasters."

More than 6,500 journalists from over 1,200 newsrooms nationwide have participated in Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism programs. Workshops are held at major news organizations and universities.
Besides its own free workshops, the Reynolds Center will provide business journalism training seminars for attendees of the New England Press Association Annual Convention in Boston on Friday, Feb. 8; the Society of American Business Editors & Writers Annual Conference in Baltimore on Saturday, April 26; and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Annual Convention in Miami on Friday, June 6.

The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism, located at ASU's Cronkite School, was launched in 2003. Programs include daylong business journalism workshops, weeklong online seminars, one-hour self-guided tutorials and business journalism coverage at BusinessJournalism.org.
