KliniTek Launches End to End Lab Outreach Capabilities

KliniTek said that it has signed an agreement with Hunter Consulting to provide a complete lab outreach solution for the largest health system in southern California. Hunter Consulting is a healthcare management consulting firm specializing in hospital and laboratory clinical, operational and financial improvement. Based on strategic considerations, the name of the health system was not disclosed.

Under the agreement, KliniTek will provide its UPCARE(R) eLAB solution to support the opening of a new state of the art, 15,000 square foot highly esoteric lab scheduled to open in the summer of 2007. UPCARE(R) eLAB is a full function, easy-to-use and cost-effective Web-based outreach management solution for hospital and independent reference labs. The new lab will feature some of the most advanced testing equipment in the country and will be capable of performing over 2500 different assays.

KliniTek will also provide full training and support for the web-based laboratory order and retrieval system.

In addition to announcing the new joint client, KliniTek and Hunter said they will offer end to end services supporting lab outreach for other clients. Together the organizations have the capability to provide assessment, strategy, program design and management, and lab outreach software, integration and implementation.

The new version also includes a powerful Inbox feature that provides location and provider centric views to dramatically improve physician office productivity.

Alliance with Hilgraeve

The company also announced an alliance with Hilgraeve, a leader in system connectivity software for healthcare and other industries. The alliance with Hilgraeve allows KliniTek to utilize the HyperSend PDX software product to connect UPCARE(R) eLAB to physician office practice management and electronic medical record systems. HyperSend PDX is a data integration solution that extracts demographic data from physician practice management systems, reformats it into industry standard HL7 format files, and sends those files securely through the Internet. This will lead to quick, cost-effective and timely implementations as KliniTek lab customers add new physician office clients or as their current physician office clients add electronic systems. Combined with the KliniTek eMR solution for healthcare institutions, KliniTek has the capability to provide caregivers complete views of patient medical records across inpatient and outpatient settings in multiple locations.
