From Naughty to Nice: Celebrity Trainer Tamar Geller and Freshpet(TM) Offer Free Training Session With Your Mischievous Mutt

SECAUCUS, N.J., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Famed dog trainer Tamar Geller, who has helped stars including Oprah Winfrey teach manners to their four-legged family members, will now be offering the same opportunity to one lucky contest winner. Freshpet(TM), the maker of refrigerated food for dogs, is sponsoring a contest where the grand prize winner's pooch will receive an in-home training session with Geller.

To enter "The Loved Dog Naughty to Nice" contest, pet parents can visit www.freshpet.com and submit a video demonstrating what life is like at home with their mischievous mutt. The video should explain the problems the dog is having and how these issues are affecting the owner's life. An ideal video will explain why the dog and his or her behavioral situation is unique, and describe or show the dog's misbehavior. Submissions should be no longer than two minutes in length. They will be evaluated based on how much the dog needs the training and how common the dog's problems are. The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2008.

One grand prize winner will receive a private training session with Tamar Geller in his or her home. The session will be taped and posted online to help other dogs learn The Loved Dog way. Five first-prize winners will receive a Loved Dog gift pack, which includes a signed copy of Tamar's New York Times best-selling book The Loved Dog, her training DVD Celebrate Your Dog, a selection of fresh meals from Freshpet and a year's supply of The Loved Dog Treats.

The contest is celebrating the launch of The Loved Dog(TM) Treats, the first brand of fresh, refrigerated treats for dogs. The all-natural treats are gently cooked to maintain freshness without the use of preservatives, and contain no corn, wheat or soy. The Loved Dog(TM) Treats come in eight-ounce resealable pouches and are available in two varieties: Real Beef Recipe and Real Chicken Recipe. They can be found in the Freshpet refrigerator, located in the pet food aisle of select grocery and pet specialty stores.

Called a "life coach for dogs" by Oprah Winfrey, Tamar prefers the term "well-mannered" to "obedient" and "coaching" to "training." Geller was featured on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" as Oprah's personal dog coach, and has provided insight to millions of dog enthusiasts nationwide as resident dog expert on "The Today Show" and Animal Planet's "Who Gets the Dog." Geller has also been featured on Larry King, 20/20, Live with Regis and Kelly, as well as in the pages of New York Times, GQ, and USA Today, among others.
