The Melting Pot Reveals Recipe for Valentine's Day Romance

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- This Valentine's Day, The Melting Pot (www.meltingpot.com) fondue restaurants offer a recipe for romance and tender tales from Lover's Lanes (secluded seating areas for couples) to ignite or reignite the romantic spark.

The Melting Pot's experience certainly establishes it as an authority on romance. Each year, its 129 restaurants host more than 500,000 couples celebrating wedding anniversaries, 21,000 prom and homecoming dates and nearly 13,000 marriage proposals.

This year, many locations offer a special Valentine's Day menu that includes starters like champagne Swiss cheese or crab imperial cheddar fondue; a strawberry almond or Caesar salad, a main course with Maine lobster tail, filet medallions or vanilla rum chicken and a choice of flaming turtle chocolate or white chocolate with a raspberry heart fondue for dessert.

What could be more romantic than a couple feeding each other freshly- dipped, chocolate-covered strawberries? Long believed to be an aphrodisiac, chocolate has phenylethylamine and serotonin, chemicals that light up the brain's pleasure areas. Even better, eating chocolate causes the brain to release endorphins, making people feel loved. Coupled with other sensual sweets like strawberries and marshmallows, The Melting Pot's dessert fondue is the perfect recipe for romance.

"Our Lover's Lane tables are most requested and we've had numerous husbands order flowers and celebration packages from us in advance to be set at the tables for special occasions," says Kendra Sartor, vice president of brand development for The Melting Pot. "Two of our most romantic tables are No. 43 at the St. Petersburg, Fla., location and No. 66 at the Tampa, Fla., location. They're so secluded that couples can't be seen by anyone else in the restaurant. Our guests do, however, have a little warning of approaching servers reflected in a picture on the wall so they won't get caught in a kiss."

A typical dinner at The Melting Pot lasts approximately two hours for the four courses. "Eating together is one of the best ways to spend quality time with each other," adds Sartor. "And what could be more romantic than an engaging conversation, a little laughter and sharing great food and drink with the one you love."

Reservations are strongly encouraged for Valentine's Day and couples can visit www.meltingpot.com to find locations and view the individual location's menus.
