2007 Adult DVD Empire Award Winners Announced

WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Adult DVD Empire, five-time winner of the AVN Award for Best Retail Website, is proud to announce the winners of the eighth annual Empire Awards. The Empire Awards was the first adult awards show devoted solely to DVD and the digital formats, and recognizes those releases from the past year that were exceptional not only in their content, but in the technical categories as well, like video, audio and bonus materials.

The most awarded movie at this year's Empire Awards is Operation: Desert Stormy, the big-budget comedy from Wicked Pictures, directed by and starring the lovely Stormy Daniels, which is taking home six awards. Digital Playground's Babysitters was the second-biggest winner, with four Empire Awards, while Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze from Zero Tolerance pulled in two wins this year.

Wicked Pictures was the most awarded studio this year, pulling in an impressive eight Empire Awards -- including both the coveted Viewer's Choice and Editor's Choice Awards for Operation: Desert Stormy, as well as being crowned Best Overall DVD Studio -- marking the second year in a row they've captured the award. Digital Playground won four awards, all for their release of Babysitters, which was recognized for the Best Video, Best Audio and Best Menus for a DVD release, as well as being honored for best HD DVD in the Empire Awards first-ever award for one of the next-generation formats. Next year, the HD DVD category will be replaced with one for Blu-ray titles, since HD DVD will be phased out by the studios in 2008.

Among the remaining winning studios, Zero Tolerance got three awards -- including the Best Selling DVD and Best Interactive DVD awards for Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze. Other winners included New Sensations with two, plus Jules Jordan, Elegant Angel, Dream Girls and Woodman Entertainment, each with one award this year. Dream Girls won the first-ever Best Amateur DVD award for their release of Discovering The Girl Next Door 3.
