WHAT:
U.S. Governors from across the United States who have demonstrated
leadership in addressing climate change will meet at Yale to review
state-level programs to combat global warming and develop a strategy for
future action.
It is anticipated that several of the governors will sign a climate change
declaration that addresses state and federal policymaking.
The event will celebrate the centennial of President Theodore Roosevelt's
landmark 1908 Conference of Governors which beckoned the nation's
governors to the White House for a summit that effectively launched the
conservation movement.
