DALLAS, April 2, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Get rid of all your extra paper and help a school at the same time! Snag A Bag Inc., a luxury handbag leasing company based in Dallas, Tx, has partnered with Phillis Wheatley Elementary school to do their part in the "Go Green" initiative by collecting paper goods for recycling.
On Saturday, April 26, 2008, the public is encouraged to bring all of their recyclable paper items to the school located at 2908 Metropolitan Avenue Dallas, Tx 75215 from 8am-3pm. The Texas Plus America Queens will volunteer to assist with hauling and sorting.
Items that'll be accepted are old catalogs, magazines, telephone books, junk mail and anything paper. The school will receive monetary compensation from Waste Management Recycle when their bins are filled. "This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to really help a local school and our Earth at the same time," said Tamara La Salle, owner of Snag A Bag. "One of the principles of our company is doing all we can to help our youth and do our part to improve our environment. I attended Phillis Wheatley and it was and still is a place where you're trained to imagine and dream BIG."
Mrs. Nanette Watts, principal of Phillis Wheatley agreed, "This event will both help community members get rid of their old paper items and help us gain funds for our school."
According to http://www.ecocycle.org, for every 117 lbs of paper that is recycled, a 30-foot tree is saved.
