DuPont Aligns Leadership Responsibilities to Drive International Growth

WILMINGTON, Del., March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont NYSE: DD today announced that Executive Vice President Ellen J. Kullman will assume overall leadership for the company's actions to drive aggressive growth in international markets. International revenue growth is a key element of DuPont's plan to accelerate its progress in achieving higher profitable growth in 2008 and beyond.

In addition to her current responsibilities, Kullman, 52, will lead the companywide business planning process for international growth. She also will add direct responsibility for two business segments whose growth prospects are directly tied to international markets, particularly emerging economies -- DuPont Performance Materials and DuPont Electronic & Communication Technologies.

In 2007, more than 60 percent of DuPont sales were from outside the United States, and are growing rapidly. From 2001 through 2007, the company's compound annual growth rates in emerging markets were 13 percent in emerging Europe, 18 percent in emerging Asia and 11 percent in Latin America. In its most recent earnings report -- for the fourth quarter 2007 -- DuPont reported that sales in emerging markets grew 20 percent compared to the same quarter in 2006, led by Brazil, China and India.
