EASTHAMPTON, Mass., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- A new scholarship, intended to assist students in Southern states who wish to attend The Williston Northampton School, has been established by alumnus Edmund M. Reggie, Jr., managing director of Future Factory (http://www.futurefactory.com). Students who meet the need requirements at the private New England boarding school are eligible for the Ed Michael Reggie Scholarship, with preference given to those from LA, AR, MS, AL, GA, TN and SC. Reggie has made an initial commitment of $150,000 to the fund, as part of a larger endowment to the school. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving candidates on a yearly basis beginning in 2009.
"Leaving a small town in Louisiana to attend Williston really changed my life," said Reggie. "It broadened my outlook and put me in contact with many, many people who have become lifelong friends and business associates. I want to make it possible for other students to have the rich, rewarding experiences and fine education I received at Williston."
"We are always honored when one of our alumni decides to make a commitment to Williston (http://www.williston.com) as it affirms our efforts to be a school that is not just about test scores and college admissions, but one of great memories and gratitude," said Headmaster Brian Wright. "This new scholarship will make the difference in lives over the years and we are grateful to Ed Michael for his dedication to the school and its future."
Students interested in learning more about Williston should contact the admissions office at 413-529-3241 or admission@williston.com to get detailed information and application forms. All selections will be made by the school based on the outlined criteria.
