From Best Professors to Best Classroom Experience, Rankings are in for the Nation's MBA Programs

IRVINE, Calif., April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review are revealing the top MBA programs in the nation based on key ranking categories. Over 19,000 students at 290 business schools were surveyed by The Princeton Review to create 11 ranking lists -- five of which are available in the April issue of Entrepreneur, along with in-depth coverage of MBA trends as they relate to entrepreneurs.

The five ranking categories in the April issue of Entrepreneur are best professors, best classroom experience, greatest opportunity for women, most competitive students, and greatest opportunity for minority students.

For entrepreneurs who want to build a solid foundation of business knowledge with an MBA, these rankings provide valuable first-hand information to assist them in the selection process. The title of number-one ranking school for Best Professors is held by the University of Virginia, and Indiana University at Bloomington won out for Best Classroom Experience.

"Though MBAs have traditionally been considered the stepping stone for executives at Fortune 500 firms, entrepreneurs are seeing the advantages of an education with intensive courses in finance, management, marketing and more," says Rieva Lesonsky, senior VP and editorial director at Entrepreneur. "This is especially true as these creative personalities bucking the system see more business schools focus on areas relevant to them -- namely innovation, real-life case studies, and entrepreneurship itself."

Robert Franek of The Princeton Review says, "None of these lists purports to rank the schools in terms of overall quality, but by using the lists in conjunction with school statistics, attributes of a business school that are important to an entrepreneur can be identified. Ultimately, they're used to generate a list of the schools that can best help achieve personal and professional goals."
