LAKELAND, Fla., March 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beginning March 5, 2008, Southeastern University will host a three-day National Leadership Forum. The Forum is an innovative and creative approach to teaching the servant leadership concept in academic, business and church communities. Twelve of America's top leadership experts will speak at this year's Forum, including General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), Governor Jeb Bush and Southeastern University President Mark Rutland.

President Mark Rutland launched the Forum last year in an effort to bring people together at Southeastern to discover how they can better serve as leaders. "At Southeastern University, the compelling passion behind everything we do is the training of God-led, world-changing servant leaders. The Forum is an innovative and creative approach to teaching the servant leadership concept. We are pleased to provide this year's speakers who understand the values and attitudes inherent in servant leadership," said Mark Rutland.
The 2008 President's Scholarship Gala: An Evening with Jeb Bush will be held Friday, March 7, 2008, at 7 p.m. The gala is an annual event that raises scholarship funds for Southeastern University students.

In 2007, a capacity crowd of 800 people attended Southeastern's first National Leadership Forum. Speakers addressed aspects of servant leadership and explored how leaders serve others in a way that enables them to fulfill their potential to achieve excellence, quality and continued growth. The servant leadership concept is the cornerstone of Southeastern. In conjunction with the first, Southeastern also hosted a luncheon featuring Indianapolis Colts football coach Tony Dungy. The sold-out crowd heard how important community service and servant leadership is to the Super Bowl-winning coach.
Established in 1935, Southeastern University is a dynamic, Christ-centered liberal arts university attempting to integrate faith and higher learning. Enrollment at Southeastern for the 2007-08 academic year has reached 3,069 students, which sets an enrollment record for the ninth consecutive year.
