ORLANDO, May 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) recently held its 4th annual Hispanic Executive Summit at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. During the three-day summit, which was held April 26th-28th, over 150 Hispanic leaders from across the US attended professional development, governance and leadership sessions designed by the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Disney Institute. Attendees also engaged in roundtable discussions, networked with fellow professionals and listened to dynamic presentations by noted business leaders.
John Quinones, co-anchor of ABC's Primetime Live, was the featured speaker at the Hispanic Executive Summit delivering the keynote address and also making a surprise donation of $5,000 to the scholarship fund of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). "We are thrilled to have John as a partner in our endeavor to open doors to higher education for well-deserving Hispanics", said Lourdes Hasler, NSHMBA CEO, upon hearing of the surprise donation. The donation by Mr. Quinones is the equivalent of a full one-year scholarship and will be awarded to a first or second year MBA student who will be named the John Quinones scholar.
At a special evening reception hosted by BMW, Ana Duarte McCarthy was named the 2007 Ultimate Hispanic Executive. This distinguished honor, presented by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs recognizes Ms. McCarthy, the current Chief Diversity Officer for Citigroup, for her outstanding professional achievement and strong commitment to service.
