LOS ANGELES, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- FremantleMedia, co-producer and licensor of American Idol, along with show creator 19 Entertainment, have named award-winning educator Donna Milani Luther as Director of Idol Camp. For the past year, Milani Luther has collaborated with the team behind the nation's most watched television show to develop an exceptional performing arts curriculum for Idol Camp. As Director, Milani Luther will continue to bring her extraordinary background in arts education to the newly established American Idol performing arts summer camp for kids.

Donna Milani Luther is a distinguished educator with over 30 years experience. Named 'Massachusetts Outstanding Arts Educator of the Year' by the Massachusetts Alliance for Art Education and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, she is currently head of Inly School, a co- educational day school dedicated to the joyful discovery of each child's innate capabilities and potential. For the past 20 years, Milani Luther has produced performing arts programs for kids that offer the optimal balance of growth, community and fun.

Idol Camp begins on July 7th, 2007 in Northfield, Massachusetts, with the first of four summer sessions. Each intensive 10-day session will house a maximum of 175 campers. Enrollment into Idol Camp is open to kids between the ages of 12 and 15 who are US residents. The application deadline for this summer is April 18. The camp is tuition-based, with a certain percentage of attendees receiving fully-paid scholarships according to financial need, and in order to reach a cross-section of educational backgrounds and opportunities.
