Marylhurst University to Launch Accelerated Online BS in Real Estate Studies Degree This Fall

Marylhurst, Ore., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning this fall, Marylhurst University will deliver its unique brand of liberal arts business education to students around the country by offering its Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Studies program online. Not only is the program one of a handful of real estate bachelor degrees offered in the United States, but it is also delivered in an accelerated format that can be completed in as little as 26 months.

The new online BS in Real Estate Studies ( http://realestate.marylhurst.edu/ ) comes at a time when the real estate market continues to be red-hot. Students in the online program will choose from four disciplines: Real Estate Appraisal, Property Management, Residential Sales, and Mortgage Banking and Lending. The program is targeted to help working real estate professionals to enhance their professional status, achieve personal educational goals, broaden real estate knowledge with business and liberal arts coursework, and prepare for exams administered by professional industry groups.

Marylhurst's online Bachelor's degree in Real Estate covers business fundamentals with courses in statistics, accounting, finance and ethics. The program includes additional course work in appraisal, marketing, property management and real estate law.

Instructors will apply business acumen to real estate training in courses such as Land-Use Planning, Real Estate Finance, and Environmental Issues and Hazards. Instructors work with professional and trade organizations to ensure that the education is relevant in today's workplace.

All courses in this new program will be administered online in five-week segments allowing for accelerated completion of the program in as little as 26 months. No campus visits by students will be necessary. Students can study at their own pace to work around their busy schedules.

Marylhurst University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Studies program has received specialized accreditation from the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), which is dedicated to improving student learning through outcomes assessment.
