Review Workshop for Chartered Financial Analyst Candidates Presented by Exam Prep Leader Kaplan/Schweser

WINDSOR, Ontario, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Schweser division of Kaplan, Inc., a leading educator of candidates sitting for the Chartered Financial Analyst(R) (CFA(R)) exam and a part of Kaplan Financial, is holding its 40th Study Seminar for Financial Analysts(R) (SSFA(R)) May 6-12, 2006. This seven day review workshop continues to be conducted for the 38th year at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. Since 1967, just four years after the first CFA exam was given, this annual seminar has served as the only seven day, residential CFA review program in the world. The Study Seminar is designed for the more than 80,000 candidates worldwide who are taking the CFA exam on June 3rd. Approximately 7,500 Canadian candidates are expected to sit for the June exam.

"The Study Seminar represents total immersion in the CFA curriculum," said Dr. Andrew Temte, CFA, President of Schweser and a SSFA instructor. "Attendees eat, sleep, and breathe the curriculum for an entire week -- SSFA is the most complete educational solution for CFA candidates on the market."

Thousands of alumni have relied on their experience at SSFA to help them achieve success on the CFA exam. "Covering all of the CFA material in depth was very useful and gave me confidence as well as a better understanding of the concepts. The examples reviewed in class were also of great help," said Jonathan Legault from Montreal.

The seven day review helps guide candidates through the rigorous CFA program with leading academic and industry experts. Participants receive more than 50 hours of live instruction, supplemental presentation materials, individual tutorial sessions, lodging and meals.

The CFA Program consists of three levels of exams administered in a graduated format over a three year period. The CFA designation is widely considered to be the most rigorous and prestigious in the investment management community. On average, the historical pass rate across all three levels of the CFA exam is 53%. In contrast, 77% of all SSFA alumni have passed the CFA Exam -- a 24% improvement over the global average.

The cost of the SSFA program at Windsor is $1,799 USD or $2,199 CAD.
