Electrolux Freestanding Range Ranked #1 by Consumer Reports(R)

New range cited for its "top performance" and innovative features

AUGUSTA, Ga., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Electrolux, the premium appliance brand used in fine homes and restaurants in Europe for over 80 years, was recently recognized by Consumer Reports magazine for its freestanding ranges; the Electrolux smoothtop electric range was ranked number one among 28 models tested.

According to the magazine's December 2008 "Best Electronics" issue, the Electrolux Wave-Touch Control Electric Freestanding Range (EW30EF65G) was a "top performer." Distinguishing features included the range's second cooking drawer and Perfect Turkey(TM) Button, which "cooked a 13-pound bird in 98 minutes on its own instead of 3 hours with frequent checks you might expect."

"We are honored to have been recognized by such a prestigious magazine as Consumer Reports," said Keith McLoughlin, Electrolux President and CEO, North America. "At Electrolux, consumer insight is the foundation of all product development, and we are constantly striving to identify social trends and consumer needs for which new products can be tailored. This ranking serves as a testament to that philosophy."

The Electrolux Electric Freestanding Range boasts the largest total cooking capacity on the market, with 6.7 cu. ft. of cooking space. The range also features signature Wave-Touch(TM) Electronic Controls, Luxury-Glide(TM) Oven Racks that extend smoothly and effortlessly, a second Perfect Pair(TM) Oven for the utmost cooking capacity, and a Perfect Turkey(TM) button that ensures moist, delicious poultry every time. With exceptional performance, stylish design and an integrated backsplash, Electrolux freestanding ranges are perfect for replacement, remodel or new-construction installations.

The Electrolux line of stylishly-designed appliances, which launched in the spring of 2008, boasts a distinctive curved-front design, signature blue LEDs electronic controls and first-in-class features such as one button you push to cook the perfect turkey and a new induction hybrid cooktop that makes cooking easier, faster and more efficient. The entire Electrolux appliance collection is available nationwide through select independent retailers and at mass merchandisers Best Buy, Lowe's and Sears.
